Halfway There!

I'm 20 weeks today and officially halfway there! We found out last week that we are having a girl. Now we are trying to come up with a name. We thought we were very prepared and we had a boy name and a girl name picked out when we went to our doctor's appointment. I will admit that we liked our boy name a lot more than the girl, but we still thought we were all set either way! Since we found out she is a girl, we have basically started from scratch in the naming game. I think it just seems so much more permanent now that we know the gender. Ever since I was little, I've loved names and loved thinking about baby names, but it's much easier to think of them when you know you can change your mind at any time! It's scary now that it's "real" cause there's no going back!

Here's my 20 week update! I've decided to only do these every two weeks. Honestly, I feel like I must have had an extremely easy pregnancy so far, because I never have anything worth complaining about in my weekly updates! Each week is just the same so I'm sure you'd get bored reading about my uneventful pregnancy as well. As much as I'd love to have something to write about, I'd rather have my "boring" pregnancy any day - let's just hope it stays this way!

1. How big is baby?  A banana
2. Weight gain? I think about 5 pounds. I'm bad at remembering to weigh myself in the mornings and by night time, it's never as accurate. 
3. Maternity clothes? Still wearing normal tops for the most part, just having to choose more carefully and wear the looser-fitting styles. However, I am loving my maternity pants! I think it's been a week or so since I wore regular pants, although I do still have one pair of jeans that buttons normally. It's my go to when laundry isn't done!
4. Sleep? Still sleeping great!
5. Best moment of the week? Duh, last Wednesday we found out we're having a little girl! 
6. What I miss?  This one's hard because I havent had a hard time giving up anything, but probably Starbucks - not a big coffee drinker but since we have a Starbucks at work, it is really hard not to get the holiday drinks!
7. What I'm looking forward to? Still waiting for Alex to really feel her move! He felt the tiniest little "kick" a few days ago, but not big enough to get too excited about!

It's A Girl!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and found out we are having a girl!! We are thrilled! It will be fun having her grow up so close in age to her cousin, Katelyn. They will be great friends! (And an added perk will be all the cute hand-me-downs from Lindsey and Justin!)

We had so much fun at our ultrasound getting to see how she is growing. It amazes me how much detail they can already see even though she only weighs 9 ounces right now. According to the sonographer, she was "doing a headstand" the whole time and would kick and squirm at just the wrong times so most of our pictures turned out a little blurry! Week 18

I'm 18 weeks today! I saw this survey on another blog and thought it would be fun to look back on one day. I should let Alex complete the survey also...we think he's had more "sympathy symptoms" than I've had real symptoms!

1. How big is baby?  Sweet Potato!
2. Weight gain? I'll tell you now, but in a few weeks might rather keep that to myself. ;) So far - 4 pounds! (Only 2 pounds up from pre-pregnancy weight but I say 4 since I lost a few pounds in the very beginning when I cut out all cokes/fried food/chips etc. My super healthy streak only lasted a couple weeks, but it's better than nothing I guess! 
3. Maternity clothes? Not quite yet. Still wearing most of my regular tops and am wearing my pants with a belly band. I do have a pair of maternity jeans that I love so I've been wearing them even though I don't have much to hold them up yet...so comfy!
4. Sleep? I'm sleeping great! I ordered a Snoogle body pillow a few weeks ago and don't know why I didn't get one years ago! I've had to pry Alex and Paisley off of it several times. They claim it any chance they get!
5. Best moment of the week? This past week I felt the baby move for the first time! It's not consistent yet, but exciting! Can't wait for Alex to be able to feel it too!
6. What I miss? Lunch meat... Really the only thing that's been hard to not eat (though I confess I've cheated a couple times.)
7. What I'm looking forward to? Next Wednesday!! We find out if our little one is a "he" or a "she" on the 14th. We can't wait!

Whew... Here we go!

Finally created a blog, so here we go! Alex and  I have thought about creating a blog several times but never have because we didn't feel like our life was exciting enough for people to read about. Don't get me wrong - we love life - we just don't expect the rest of the world to find it as entertaining as we do! 

We finally have exciting news to blog about so we figured now is a great time to start! We found out in August that our family will be growing by one! We are thrilled that we are expecting our first child in April! We have two fur babies, Paisley(4yr-old) and Riley(3), who would be upset that I referred to our new addition as "first" child - they are in for a surprise in April but we know they'll do great with their new little brother or sister.
